Where did you grow up?

Posted on Jul 15th, 2007 by jo : SecretGarden jo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 15, 2007:

Tracy, California....  what used to be a small town not far from the Bay Area.  It has grown of course since the time that I lived there.  I was born and raised there for 10 years living with my mom, dad, and sister until my parents divorced in '85.  We had a great neighborhood, and the kind of street where you knew everyone who lived there.  Well, my sister and I did anyway.... We knew which kids lived in which houses, and our summers seemed to be filled with riding bikes all day around the neighborhood with all the other kids.  My dad and grandparents still live there today!

What were you like as a child?

Total tomboy!  Full of imagination.... My sister and I used to build forts (and traps for the evil-doers!) out in this field behind our house. The foliage out there was taller than we were.  We used to make mud pies in old pie tins with real mud and berries... I could ride my bike all over our neighborhood till the sun went down- (back when it was actually safe to do that!) I was a child full of imagination and fantasy......and a lot of dirt and mud.   : )

What is real to you?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 12, 2007:

Music!..... Or ANYTHING else that makes me 'FEEL'...... If I am impacted in one way or another, if a fire of some sort is ignited in my soul, I consider whatever it is that caused or created it to be REAL.  For me, MUSIC does it every time.

If you could give a gift to the world, what would it be?

PEACE..... Hands down!  I know it seems so typical to say "Peace", but isn't that what the world needs now more than ever?  (Of course I'd sprinkle a lot of LOVE in there too).

What do you need to be reminded of?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 03, 2007:

To Breathe...  Sometimes I will take a great deep breath, and then of course a noticeable exhale, and if a friend or my husband is near me at the time, they ask "what's wrong"?....and I reply "oh nothing- I'm fine... I just hadn't really breathed for a while"!!!!!

Pick three words that describe you as you are right now.

Comfy, cozy, and satisfied.....   Comfy & cozy because I'm in my nice, warm bed.... and satisfied because I was up at 5:30am, walked my dog and got in some exercise, and feel quite satisfied that my day got off to a great start!  Now, I just need to rid myself of the "comfy, cozy" feelings, so that I can once again get out of bed and continue my day...

What was the longest day of your life?

Posted on Jun 21st, 2007 by jo : SecretGarden jo
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 21, 2007:

I'd have to say, the longest day of my life would have to be the day of my sisters funeral.   Not the day she passed, but the actual day of the service.  The day began at 12:01 am.....  Not being able to sleep knowing what was to come.  Then of course getting ready, having to look decent to go in public when you don't even have a care about what you look like.....Seeing all the people.....Going to the service....... Getting together with everyone after....The day just seemed to drag on and on like it was never-ending.  But it did end, and I began to heal.   : )
